I'm just mostly curious how many people use ScubaPro regs.

Post the ones you most often and then any extras you have.

I have the ScubaPro MK17 as my first stage. The S555 as my primary second stage and the R395 as my secondary second stage.

What do you have?

Michael

PS: Please don't make this a bash ScubaPro thread or anything. If you don't own a SP reg, post what you are looking to get or what setup you'd like. Please don't post any other brand names... ScubaPro only please.

While I generally like their regulators, I really just don't care for the company. It is pretty clear to me that they sdee dive shops as their customers rather than the divers. There anti-competetive policies are also anti-consumer.

The really great thing about them is their older regs were the market standards years ago and they have maintained the design envelope so most are still supported, at least with service kits. There newer regs are a mix of high performance regs that are competetive with high quality regs produced by many mfgrs and a few that just look like poorly thought out marketing ploys.

Much of the rest of their gear is just overpriced and ho-hum.

Betwwen my wife and I we have:

3 Mk20s, 2 Mk10s, 1 Mk7, 3 Mk5s, 2 Mk2s; 2 S600s, 1 G500, 1 R390, 2 R190s, 3 Air2s,4 Balanced Adjustables (156), 5 Adjustables (109), and 1 HP(080). I'm still looking for a good buy on a D-series 2nd.

I have 2 MK10+ first stages, 2 M-50 seconds and 1 G200B second. They all breath great.

I have 2 mk25's. Both are sporting a S550 second. The one on my necklace has been detuned to prevent free-flowing.

<DIV>I also am not real happy with SP's business practices, but I bought both my regs used and had my shop rebuild them. Can't go wrong with 2 regs for the price of one!</DIV>

ScubaPro MK25
ScubaPro S600 on the long hose
ScubaPro S555 on the short hose
Uwatec SmartTec (wrist model)

(Second MK25 for doubles diving)

ScubaPro's business practices are no worse than AquaLung.

<DIV>The way I see it, Aqualung's anti-consumer policies are no better than scubapro's. They both stink. Thankfully, there are so many other good choices these days. </DIV>

The way I see it, as long as we're still using products made by Microsoft, we really have no moral standing in this matter.

So I'll buy the regs I like best.

I have scubapro regs but I'm not sure which ... I've had no problems with them though.

I use the old metal 109's for my alternates. I just think they are so cool looking. And for something anywhere from 25 to 40 years old, they breath great. I have 1 that's balanced, that I use the most.
<DIV></DIV>
<DIV>Occasionally I'll use 1 of my MK 5's with the 109 2nd. I have a MK 7 that is going to be serviced this winter. It's known as "The Honker" because it honks when the pressure gets low in the tank. I believe it was an early warning system before SPGs werea standard item.</DIV>
<DIV></DIV>
<DIV>I understand vintage gear isn't for everyone, but if it can still be serviced, it fun to use from time to time. My LDS basically just charges me for parts because I'll display them at the store occationally.</DIV>
