Dacor
I have been diving Dacor Regs for about 5 years. They are getting harder and harder to get serviced. I am replacing mine. I cannot tell you what to replace them with. I would just try a few different regs before you make up your mind. Bill

Dacor Eagle DPD isn't a bad regulator. Basically a Mares Proton. I got one and haven't had any problems with it. Took it to Guam in April '07 and 3 of the 6 dives we did was 120'~140' at the Blue Hole and it did a great job. I think its a good reg. and its definitely simple to use.

Dacor products are fine pieces of gear. The real problem is they aren't made anymore! So your chances of being able to have it serviced are getting worse and worse as time goes by...
![]() Unless you have a killer deal on one, I would strongly suggest you buy something current you will be able to get support for a long time! Just my 0.02$ ![]() |

I wouldn't buy a Dacor reg. Even if it's a current one with parts available, the reputation is such that it still might be hard to get serviced. You will tend to get a knee jerk response from dive shops they they can't get the parts and can't service them, true or not. (1st hand experience, I have a couple recent Dacor octos.) I think the name is mud and unrecoverable at this point.
