Reg: DIN to yoke converter: spacing issues?

Kind of a general question, but does using a yoke adapter on a DIN reg on a single tank tend to position the reg farther forward (against your head) than a regular yoke reg? Has this extra length ever been a problem for those who use it?

Using a yoke adaptor on a DIN will position the reg forward when compared to standard yoke. Its never been a problem with me when I use it. Sometimes people have to adjust there BCD/BPW a little higher on their tank.

The amount it moves forward for me isn't all that much and I have never hit my head on it. I have Zeagle ZX 50D with yoke adapter and it is fine. It makes doing some skills easier (the Reg recovery) but it never interfered with my diving.

Mine has the adapter, and I'm getting ready to get DIN valves for the tanks so I can do away with it. The difference is about 1 1/2". That's a pretty big difference in my opinion.

It can be a problem. Can get round it (maybe,depending on hose lengths) by angling the valve to the side so it is not pointing at your head.
Or point the valve backwards (pointing away from your head) that puts the knob on the left which could get confusing but I guess most single tank divers can not reach it anyway.

The few times I have used mine, I never had any issues....ianr33 does have a good suggestion of a long hose.

My DSV is Din-when I add the adapter that came with it the change in position is very little. If Need be I can adjust the tank height a little to keep my head from hitting it. I usually dive with a DIN tank so it does not affect me too much.

Been using one for years before I finally got DIN tanks. On the Scubapro it changes the alighnment by a 1.22 inch or so. Unless you were looking for it, you can't tell the difference.
