Does my Reg have a problem?

Hi-
I have a new Atomic B2, Ive had it in the pool and it seems to breath fine in water.
Out of the water, when attached to a tank....there is no problem with the inhate, but on the exhale...it makes a farting sound....through the entire length of the exhale. Is this normal? not? big....little problem?
I'm scheduled to leave for Coz in 11 days, and there is no such thing as a LDS that is less than a 3 hr drive, and even then their repair dept is skeptical in my mind....
your collected advise sought!

In my VERY LIMITED experience, that's normal.

However, check with your dealer if you're concerned.

Just give it a good Beano soak before you leave. Actually, it is quite normal for an exhaust diaphragm, especially a new one, to make noise when out of water. Your reg was designed to be used underwater. Use it that way, and all will be well.

I used a reg once that did the same thing-although it was not an Atomic I was told the reg was fine. I would contact an Atomic repair tech(ST is great) and just see what they say just to be on the safe side.

My B2 does the same thing, as do most regs I have used. It is normal.

My Apeks have done that as well as my Sherwoods. I think it's just something many do.

I have a newer Zeagle second stage that does that, but none of my older seconds do it so I think it has something to do with the reg not being broken in.
