Oceanic GT3

I can pick up a Oceanic GT3/CDX5 (non DVT) for about $175-$200 brand new. Wondering if anyone has any positive or negative comments about this regulator? So far I think for the price vs. quality no other regulator is going to fit into my budget better. Let me know what you think? I'm just an occasional vacation diver mostly in 60+ degree water and normally 0-100 ft deep.

I have used one now for 3 years and love it, I bought my wife one this last fall im so impressed with it. Also before you buy yours contact ST and tell them your price if its verifiable most likely they will match it, and much better customer service.

I have 2, my dad has 2, we like them a lot and have been very happy with them, no free-flows or any other issues. I would second calling ST and seeing what they can do for you.

I got one last year, have about 30 dives on it. It breathes well, but a little wet upside down. I also have to adjust it a bit when going deeper, or it free flows through my mouth and out my nose, this keeps my mask dry, but it wastes a lot of air if I don't watch it. I had originally gotten it, because ST was, at the time, not selling the Aeris Atmos Pro that my wife got. We both really like the Pro, but the GT3 works well. I do notice a bit of pulling, as mentioned in the Miflex discussion because of the orientation of the LP fittings on the first stage (the Pro it oriented 90 deg from the GT3, and has the first stage swivel)and I am thinking of switching the primary hose for that reason. So I would ranke the Aeris Atmos Pro better, but it costs more, and may be hard to find.

It's a good reg for what you intend to do. Just be sure that the high pressure seat has been upgraded per the recall.
