Black Bio-Filter?

I was just browsing a Japanese site for fun, it's fun 'cos they get good looking stuff that aren't available anywhere else. Today, I found an Apollo Bio Filter, and it's in black...I've never seen that in the US / English speaking markets before.

It was "on sale" and listed for 18,711 Yen, which is about $173 USD. I was told scuba gear is generally more expensive in Japan. They get a lot of cool stuff, at one point I was trying so hard to buy a Jap Version Scubapro Xtender for about $1K USD....lucky I got around it and didn't buy at the end, what was I thinking!

But back to the subject, the black looks great. It would have went pretty well with the black hose.

I'd like it if they sold that with it all black, no silver at all. I love my bio-filter but a black one would look sweet. I try to get back for everything other than lights and tanks, nice to have that match.

I'm opposed to black tanks because I'd rather not get run over. Just not my idea of a good time.

Looks cool. On the other hand, without the contrast it looks that much more like a transmitter or tank knob, and surely some clown will try to use it to pick up the tank...

They already do with the silver one. I always warn them and they still try to lift the tank by it....

I love it for when I am doing a lot of dives in a day. The filter also adds a bit of a piece of mind when you are in areas with questionable filtration.
