I volunteer in the local Aquarium and they feed those fish fresh water clams. They crush the shells very easy, their jaws are very strong.

There is one species that had no spike which I got him to puff up and hugged him like a tiny teddy bear.

I heard that it is bad for a puffer to get them to puff that true?

I've also heard that... I believe it's because it's stressful to the animal (seeing as them puffing up is a defense mechanism)
