Hmmmmm..........the SDI Solo Manual says it takes 22 min to drain an full AL80 with a ruptured HP hose at the surface. As per a study conducted by Advanced Diver Magazine. It also says that it takes 22 min at 4 ata (99').

I got to see this happen once for real. One of the local dive boats has a real high deck. It's about 8 feet from deck to water. You just do a giant stride and it takes a noticeable 1/2 second or so to hit the water. So,... my buddy jumps off but is air integrated computer wedges somehow into the hinge of the gate. He forgot to clip the console and it was just hanging when he stepped off. So on the why down he is jerked around backwards when the HP goes tight and then rips loose. There was a very impressive amount of bubbles in the water. Needless to say we called the dive and swam around to the stern of the boat and climbed out. His tank was down only a few hundred PSI. We were able to find a spare hose some place
