To stop someone from accidently screwing an inflator into the HP port, turning on the tank, and watching the hose blow up to the size of a football them blow up with a huge bang, causing the diver to turn his drysuit into a "wetsuit".

Hi. Could you explain again, the mechanism whereby the tank empties more slowly with a cut HP hose, than LP hose?

The fitting on the end of the high pressure hose that screws into the first stage has only an i.d. the size of a pin hole.
