I own the Apollo Bio Fin for a while and love them and solved my problems with cramps, great speed but they are heavy for traveling. I went looking for a travel fin and decided to give the FF fins a try since they weight less and would fit in my carry on bag. I have had one pool session so far without scuba gear I will say they have a different feel to them, on the power stroke you can feel the fin move away from the ball of you feet and feel like they are going to come off your foot but on the recovery stroke they is very little resistance. It is true that you can take the heel strap off and they do stay on your feet. Over all I was impressed with them except when it come to surface swimming on your chest, they seem to loose all the power and are impossible to keep from breaking the surface. – On your back they are really impressive with excellent power and speed. Overall I do like the Bio’s better but these are probably going to be my travel fins and I’m going to give them at least 5 to 10 dives before I make my finial judgment. One pool session with out scuba doesn’t really doesn’t put the fins to the test.
