its a nice dive. I usually dive it twice a month just to keep diving. Its shallow. 10-11 ft tops with an avg of 6-7. Water temp is 72 degs year round since it is spring fed.
Best time to dive is early in the morning or 7 in the evening to find tosme tubber droppings (treasure) lol. |

Welcome to Darby's Tropicals! Its an aquarium shop but they run "The Scuba Shack" right next to it. If you go to the bottom of the page, left hand side, you will be able to cluck on that link. Be sure to bring your C card they will REALLY ask you for it. When are you comming down this area? I might be in town and I'd be glad to dive with you |

ndv21: Plans aren't firm yet, but I'll be driving into San Antonio the evening of the 17th, and I've got a business conference starting the afternoon of the 18th. I'm hoping to get in a couple dives on the morning of the 18th before I have to head into Austin. Would love to dive with you if it works out. |

the river is a good dive and fun way to kill an hour. have seen ppl do about 90 min on an AL 80 if you don't fight the current to much.
as far as gear goes, during summer you can do it in a swim suit. max you should need is a 3mm...no hood really needed....gloves are good too. always fun to move the rocks and stuff around to find all kinds of things! as this is a good place for tubers to play, you can find almost anything from watches wallets cell phones coins dollars keys etc etc etc.. lots of stories about things found here...lol |
