So divers find 3 dumped (and presumbably stolen) vehicles, and now divers are prohibited? That sounds like someone is trying to cover something up.

You think they'd be a bit more appreciative! Does Winter Park have a dive team or do they rely on the Sheriff's Dept?

All of them are most likely Insurance Fraud cases where the owner or someone the owner knows or hires dumps the car in the sink hole to "never be found".

Most car theives are either after the car for parts and way too lazy to go to the trouble of sinking the car. More likely theives leave stolen cars in a parking lot or on a street before hoping into their next ride.

When we lived in S Florida they'd pull 1 - 2 vehicles from the canal down the road weekly. Most were insurance fraud jobs, or vehicles dumped after a joy ride.

We occasionally have cars dumped in the river here, but usually they
re found almost immediately as the dolts don't know that the water is only 4'-6' deep. Usually as a result of joy rides.

Wow, crooks really love to ditch their hot items into water and never think they're going to be found. Amazing.

Not unless it's hundreds of fathoms deep and even that's no guarantee. I guess there aren't too many criminals familiar with diving.
