Well that wasn't nice Mike.

Although, just down the road at Morrison there are eel about 10 times the size of that one. Hint to the publisher.

Vortex Springs is a commercial dive site that is operated on a freshwater spring. Vortex puts out something like 24 million gallons of water a day. (about a million gallons an hour). The basin is small, but it's still a popular dive site. They've basically turned the entire place into a "dive resort" with cabins for rents, rooms, onsite air fills, a dive shop on site, a campground, swimming hole, etc.

the critter you see is a "freshwater eel". They co exist with the divers easily. I'm sure that if you got too frisky with them that they'd bite though. They are know to eat food from the divers however.

check out www.vortexspring.com (Notice, they are having some website issues.... so if it doesn't work, try back later.)
