Yes - have one in my pocket.
I have found that you get a whole array of amazing colours when flashing a light at a coral head - even in daylight. You tend to miss those if you don't have one! Also - you never know when cool / interesting dive throughs may be available - and having a light helps to figure out what's ahead, etc., etc. Finally - once you are on the surface - it could be used as a beacon device to attract attention if necessary.

Yes. Clip it to a D ring and forget about it. If I need it it's there, if not, no harm done.

Yes. I drop a small one in a pocket or clip it to the BCD. It's like having a pocket knife in the woods, small and easy to forget it's there - but handy when you need it.
