Frank Hammet was my open water instructor

(please view link below)

DEEP DIVE

Just stirring things up a bit in light of all the shark talk.

Frank explained that to avoid attracting undesired attention from sharks, wear black wetsuits. Never, ever wear yellow. Except on the left coast where the big boys feed on seals and such.

Frank also said, that a diver with his fins, scuba unit etc, looks really big and uninviting to a shark.

Back in the day, many of us hid our catch inside our front zip beaver tail wetsuits.

Note: BC's were viewed with the same disdain as leashes among the surfers. (Kook cords.) Today, I use both.

I've always heard that if you dive in a suit and with a briefcase the sharks will leave you alone out of professional courtesy.

In that case, maybe I should attach my bar card next to my DAN tag.

There are sites on the web with all kinds of statistics about shark bites. From what I've read, color doesn't seem to make any difference at all.
