resorts, with diving

Hey all,
We are trying to plan a little getaway for june/july and heard a nasty little rumour that there are resorts that include a couple dives a day. I know sandals is one, but we are hoping to go back to mayan riviera. Any suggestions?

Well,... there are several on Cozumel that include diving with your Hotel stay. Such as Hotel Cozumel, Fiesta Americana, and Scuba Club Cozumel. Actually there is much much more than that,.... its just those are the first ones that come to mind. Matter of fact if you thumb through just about any issue of Scuba Diving magazine or even padi's sport diver magazine you will see plenty of adds from locoations around the globe with everything included. I just booked a July trip to Cozumel through travelocity at the Hotel Cozumel with an All Inclusive plan, but it was cheaper for me to book with travelocity the Hotel and flight and book my dives with Dive Paradise seperately. There are also several different dive opps that give discounts to guests of certain hotels.

If you haven't read already someplace, be aware that the typical AIs such as Sandals and Breezes aren't usually noted for the quantity or quality of diving they provide. It's often suggested to plan most of your diving with a different operator anyway if you're staying one of those places. They're not like the more scuba oriented AIs or some of the AIs in major dive destinations like Coz which are better bets.

I dove with the Reef Marina Dive Shop in the Reef Playacar...easily one of the best shops I have worked with. The hotel was ok, but the shop and the diving was great!

True... I would check with the resort and see what shop they use. If you are not sure book with a local and take the non-diver discount from the resort. There are good shops in the area. I personaly like Dive Adventuras in Peurto Adventuras, just south of PDC.

I have a similar deal in Roatan, It's $1550 8-days 7-nights, 5 days of 3-tank boat dives, plus one night dive and all the shore diving you can get in (the resort is on the reef), food and drink inclusive.

Is this air included? If so where do they fly out of?

go to www.funjet.com

there are some killer deals on there... 4 days / 3 nights at Iberostar Cozumel for $610 / person, airfare, food/drink and taxes included... the only thing you pay for is the dives, which, I believe are very cheap, and leave directly from their pier...
