Apparently when Americans travel there (usually off cruise ships), the Cuban Authorities don't stamp their passports. Interestingly enough, their passports weren't stamped either. Many have Americans (living in Canada) have traveled there, using this method, myself,( American), I choose not to risk this. Plus the whole communist thing. Oh, and it is Castros brother! I don't know why travel booklets are available in the U.S., here in Canada, they've always had open travel, and stock Cuban products in stores (such as their famous cigars!) I hear the diving at Isle de Youth(sp?) is incredible ![]()

Americans can get to Cuba by traveling through Canada, Mexico, and Jamaica. It's not that Cuba won't let you but the US won't let you. However, if your passport were stamped from Cuba, I don't know what kind of problems you might have reentering the country.

Just found this:
http://travel.msn.com/Guides/article...=384862&page=3 For decades, customs agents never bothered stamping U.S. passports, but today, the Cuban stamp is a kiss of death. Americans face prosecution, interrogation or hefty fines for trying to return home after an illegal visit to Cuba (fines vary, but they can amount to thousands of dollars). If you’re fearless enough to try this, understand that you’re breaking the law. And even if you avoid serious penalties, remember that the black mark will remain on your passport forever, potentially hindering future U.S. border crossings.
