Great books to take on vacation!

I know some people have to read on vacation, I always see people sitting on the boat (liveaboards) reading during surface intervals. I have never done this but I may start next trip.
Here is the book I just finished and it is BY FAR the FUNNIEST BOOK I HAVE EVER READ!

"The Sex Lives of Cannibals" by J. Maartan Troost
No it isn't about sex, it is a true story by a guy (and his girlfriend) who decide they want to get away from modern civilization and live somewhere exotic and have an adventure. They end up on a small atoll in the South Pacific called Tawara in the poor island nation of Kiribati. The book follows their 2 years on the island.

On my vacation this month, I am going to take the follow-on book "Getting Stoned with Savages" which happens a few years later when they return to South Pacific, but this time to Fiji.

So do you have a book to recommend for a dive trip?

Neutral Buoyancy by Tim Ecott, I just started reading it for the second time, just to try to absorb all the information... Or Shadow Divers, the suspense is incredible & it's a quick read...

I take along a book of Sudoku puzzles. I don't think I have properly thanked / cursed the person who introduced me to these addictive little time wasters.

My general reading lately has been the "In Death" series by JD Robb (Nora Roberts). Very good near future mysteries/adventures.

"Fluke: Or, I know Why the Winged Whale Sings" by Christopher Moore is a decent one, I think many will find it more amusing than I did. It has some sexual references, but it has lots of good marine humor too

I've read all the Jimmy Buffett books on vacations. A pirate looks at 50, Tales from Margaritaville, A salty Piece of Land, and Where is Joe Merchant. He's really a horrible writer but the setting of many of the books is what keeps me interested and in a 'vacation' frame of mind.

You aren't kidding I have started one of his books before and just put it down and started reading something else. I guess I'll give it another try because I do like books set in a vacation spot.

I take a Sudokus and cross word puzzles on the plane, my step-Mother-in-law got me hooked on Sudoku.

Why read on vacation? I am either under the water or in the bar. Only things I want to read are the panty lines on a womans rear end
