Mount Everest of diving?

What do you believe is the Mount Everest of diving? I know they say it was the Doria. But now many diver's make it to the Doria. What's the new Everest?

I don't know that there is one. To qualify it has to be rough conditions that takes lives. There really isn't any other "dive site" that meets those.

How about the HMHS Britannic? Not as deep as the Fitzgerald, but sounds like a fairly rigorous dive.

Don't people get themselves killed there by not paying attention rather than the conditions of the dive itself? Stupiditiy shouldn't count for a "Mt. Everest" dive.

The Edmund Fitzgerald would be a challenging dive, but I thought you couldn't dive it legally? The families made a big deal I think about divers being on it.

Not sure what else to vote for...

people get themselves killed on everest the same way they get them selves killed at blue hole... by doing more than they can, just because they want to make it.

I thought of Wakulla, but it's not "legal" for everyone to dive it. Until the site is open to the general cave diving population, I wouldn't count it.

If it can be done as a recreational dive, then I wouldn't count that either.
