Best: Molokini, Maui, Hawaii. 100+ ft. (Average probably a bit less, but not much!). Anything over 100 ft feels like your on land--you can actually survey the landscape.
Worst: St. Andrews, New Brunswick, Canada. Worst, 6 inches, most days probably 10 ft? Mighty tides and river output do not make this a hot spot for diving. Good for scallops though! |

2 months ago i was diving around a Malaysian island called Pulau Tinggi.
My girlfriend couldn't see me even though i was holding her hands. The vis couldn't have been more than 3 feet. That plus the fact that it was jellyfish season really freaked her out. |

And as far as Chatfield goes. I'll never forget my first dive out there. We all swam out to the marker dropped down and on the first kick, went into complete silt out conditions. It was a great place to do my underwater nav class though! |
