Best: Molokini, Maui, Hawaii. 100+ ft. (Average probably a bit less, but not much!). Anything over 100 ft feels like your on land--you can actually survey the landscape.

Worst: St. Andrews, New Brunswick, Canada. Worst, 6 inches, most days probably 10 ft? Mighty tides and river output do not make this a hot spot for diving. Good for scallops though!

Worst - checkout dives for OW in a lake with 4-8 ft
Best - Gloucester with ~30

I seriously can not wait to go down south and get some good vis dives in, I think I just may be blown away...

2 months ago i was diving around a Malaysian island called Pulau Tinggi.
My girlfriend couldn't see me even though i was holding her hands. The vis couldn't have been more than 3 feet. That plus the fact that it was jellyfish season really freaked her out.

You must have caught Palau on a bad day

For many, Palau is the dive of a lifetime. You may want to try that one again. Concerning the jellyfish; if they aren't the nasty, stinging kind, that would be awe-inspiring.

Cozumel has some amazing vis. To the point you really have to watch your depth.

And as far as Chatfield goes. I'll never forget my first dive out there. We all swam out to the marker dropped down and on the first kick, went into complete silt out conditions.

It was a great place to do my underwater nav class though!

Are Pulau Tinggi & Palau different places?

I would love to dive Palau...but for now Cozumel has the best viz I've seen. Worst-Lake Tenkiller...couldn't see my fins!
