Have to add the crystal clear waters of Mt. Storm WV. Especially if your going down after a group doing their checkout dives. Going to be a good foot of viz.

Caribbean sites were very clear.

Silfra in iceland, incredibly clean, clear and cold water. But I only snorkelled there.
Worst would be at Tioman in june 2009, but I haven't had many dives or snorkelling yet

the wurstest: Saltwater--Mobile Bay while diving as part of a research project and running vibra-cores. Freshwater--Tied between Lake Oliver, near Columbus, GA (trying to recover some items from a sunken boat) and Galveston Bay (Offatts Bayou B.A.D Stony Crab Contest).

bestestever: Mmmm....saltwater had to be a tie between Cozumel and Grand Cayman. freshwater: The "3rd Cave", Morrison. I believe it is sealed off now. That one was so clear, part of the cave-system boil, it didn't seem like water. I loved that place but never returned after it went "commercial".

Old Thread.

Best I've dove was in Roatan, Honduras - not sure the exact vis but it had to be 150'+.

Worst has been in Lake Michigan and Lake Erie, both down to ~1' for entire dives with portions done by braile in 0' vis.

Dat's right, cher. I recall going on a nighttime spearfishing dive in Lake Ponchartrain (with the hurricane warning flags flying) cuz we was gonna get us some "tarpon" down in "the hole".

Didn't see nary a tarpon. Saw some sheepshead from 1' away. I recall having to arch my arm back to get my tip on the right side of the fish before pulling the trigger.

We climb out of the water, and some guy driving down the road (off the west end marina) tossed a beer bottle and hit my buddy in the back.

I won't go into how we managed to convince ourselves this was a smart plan. After all, it WAS New Orleans. That viz ties for my worst. That idea was definitely my worst, no contest.
