How many dives in a day?

What's the largest number of dives you've done in a day?
(tell me a story!)

For me it's six.
One big Saturday at the Lake --
Two Divers, Ten Tanks, 8am to 8:30pm... what a great day!

Five at the Flower Gardens, including the night dive, then 4 the next day. The last dive really short to avoid deco obligations.

Outside of liveaboad diving, I think 3 dives is a good number, with a 4th night dive if it isn't too deep.

With my teenage son as a dive buddy these days, I think 3 is enough, with the third dive pretty shallow, say above 60'. I would advise caution with growing kids.

Six is the most for me and I've done it twice. Once in Bonaire and once at Wakatobi. When I was at Wakatobi last fall one guy did 6 twice.

Done 5 dives in a day to many times to count.

When I first started as a divemaster there was one weekend that we were really short handed. I had 4 dives helping with classes in the am, then 4 hours in the pool then 2 night dives. The second day was 5 dives and back to the pool in the afternoon. The instructor doing the pool session asked for me to wait at the bottom in the deep end as the students would be doing a skill circuit. Apparently there were a few equipment issues that resulted in a long delay. When they finally sent another DM to get me I had been asleep on the bottom for more than 30 minutes.

I've done 4 dives in a day on several occasions, but usually two or three will do it for me. I only have 2 LP72s and twin HP100s, so really 4 dives is the most I can do with my own gear before going for fills. Generally, I'll either dive singles or doubles... it's pretty rare for me to do both in a day, but sometimes I'll do a two hour shore dive on doubles before switching over to single tanks.

4 dives a day is my biggest number... but today is my one month anniversary for being certified so who knows what next month will hold.... geez... is it sad that I consider my certification date as an anniversary?

Did 5 dives one day, and 4 dives on two other days when I was in Bonaire. Then again, it's real easy to get a lot of dives in when you're in Bonaire.
