More education

I take about 40 hours of CMEs every year.. I was wondering
1: is theer such a thing as continuing education for divers..
and can there be a forum specifically for more education> refreshers etc..
I knwo reading about what others did wrong is always handy and I print off wuite few piece of information just so that hubby can keep ahead and learn..
but i was just curious if there could be a section for education, refresher, etc...

This is a great suggestion. +1 vote on creating a section of the site here for just this purpose.

Most shops offer a refresher, but it's more for people that have been away from diving for awhile, or just need some more confidence. There are a multitude of specialty courses for learning new skills. And if you really want to get an education, you might look into technical foundations "fundies" for short. While it is an introduction to technical diving, it really is useful for all types of diving. Even if you feel your not ready for something like that, it might be used as a goal for down the road, and you can look at some of the skills required & work in that direction.

An online learning center/dive library type of thing could be a good idea as long as it was used in conjunction with gaining actual dive experience. With diving, there are so many different paths you can choose to continue down, that I don't think there would necessarily be one form of continuing ed that would work for all divers.

Or maybe people could list some classes offered in their area that they think might be of interest to others like the Sea Signs class listed in another thread.
