Favorite dive book?

What's your list of best "diving" books? And I don't mean manuals, but novels, fiction, real stories etc.

My instructor recommended The Last Dive by Bernie Chowdhury.

Amazon.com: The Last Dive: A Father and Son's Fatal Descent into the Ocean's Depths: Bernie Chowdhury: Books

They kind of spoil it with the full title on amazon, but this is the next book on my 'to read' list :-)

Shadow Divers is better than The Last Dive IMO.

My favorite is Caverns Measureless to Man by Sheck Exley

I just finished Raising the Dead, which is the story of David Shaw, and his dive at Bushmans Hole--again one you cant put down cover to cover

The Last Dive was good. You'll enjoy it.

EDIT:

If you read Shadow Divers, you'll have to read "Shadow Divers Exposed".

Thanks FishFood - very comprehensive list. That thread was in December, let's see if any new divers joined the forum since then. :-)

Boy, the list is growing quickly.

LoL!

While you're at it, add "Deep Descent". It's good in addition to "The Last Dive".

My copy of "caverns measureless to man" is falling apart i've read it so many times. It is far and away my favorite book on diving.

I've read the last dive a few times, and it's decent, but i spend the whole time i'm reading it saying "i'm surprised they haven't died yet" where with "Caverns" i'm just in awe of what Sheck accomplished.

why? - what is the story - I am getting ready to start Shadow Divers

As for Novels - I enjoy Clive Cussler books and they always seem to have some type of diving in them
