The dentist

I cant remember which certification class i was in. But my daughter was just starting and this guy, a dentist was taking her class.
to make a very long story short, he tried to breath through his r snorkel, because he forgot where his reg was and almost drowned his silly self.
It wasn't just that time, there were other times that he got his gear wrong, could not accomplish even the smallest tasks. I told my instructor that he will probably be my first rescue. If it were me, I would have never certified him, and because of him, the class had to do two extra weeks of pool work.

Why should the class do extra pool work? It is the instructor's responsibility (perhaps at additional cost to the dentist) to remediate this student.

Was the dentist this guy?

Talking

Just goes to show you that dentists are unsafe divers and should not be trusted!

Yes- that is not fair to the class. We had someone who needed extra help in my OW, and they had to do the extra work on their own time...

As long as he didn' try pulling toes for teeth, bet he finally 'got it' in diving, but that's just a guess........

Yeah, in my OW also. As a matter of fact, that guy was also a Dr. He was taking the course with his son, who was not having any problems at all.

I'm curious why you brought up the fact that he is a dentist. It would seem to me that played no part in the story.

Well, because nobody likes going to dentists. So we can bond...

Now, had this person been an IT guy, then I would be offended...
