Good, Bad, and the Ugly

I have noticed that scuba people seem to fall into one of three categories.

The Good: Never a cross word for anyone (unless the imminent activity would endanger a third party), always encouraging others to learn more about diving, and the diving environment.

The Bad: Out to prove to the world through Scuba diving that Daddy was wrong, and Junior or Little Missy is the baddest thing to enter the ocean since the Megalodon (or maybe the Basillosaurus).

The Ugly: Struck out in college, but dedicated to making it in the business world...that is...the scuba business world after spending 20 years as a dive bum...and blowing the trust fund.

Your thoughts?

P.S. I am so sick of Smart @$$ Dive Boat Captains...that I am ready to go in debt to buy a boat of my own.

I think I fall into the "Good" Largo! I've only been certified over a month and have experienced several amazing Blue Water Dives already... I say go get that dang boat and load me up on Dramamine because I never really found my sea-legs... but hubby and I are gung ho!!!

The trick to finding your sea-legs is eating a hearty breakfast.

I recommend:

1/4 pound salt pork
2 ship's biscuits.
1/4 pound dried peas (reconstituted, of course)

and either

1 pint small beer or 1/2 pint rum.

I too hope I fit in the "Good" category. Though my dive buddy will accuse me of being ugly just 'cause of my looks. And not necessarily due to being "Bad" I do get accused of diving when the Megaladon's still swam the seas.

Those categories are about right. Thankfully the ugly and the bad are in small quantities.

People in general fall into those 3 categories.

I hope I fit into the good!
A good breakfast is important, but I'm not sure my delicate constitution could take salt pork- ick!

the rest of it sounds ok though!

I'm not sure I agree with the categories. It's like trying to force a round peg in a square hole. I just don't see all divers fitting in one of the three.
