Yeah right.
And I suppose next you're going to tell us we don't have to wait an hour after eating before getting in the water.
Or it is ok to put a hat on a bed or shoes on a table.

Actually I saw (think it was Myth Busters) a similar experiment where "Red" was the color of choice. And I am sure on another day or with a different series of circumstances it would be black.

In deference to Splitlip here is the MythBusters video

Shark Week Mini Myths: Do Sharks Have Color Preferences?

Ok, maybe an all blue wetsuit would be better. And some spray paint for the backplate.
ruroh. I see Taigin posted the MythBusters link. Guess I never saw the "second" experiment.

Usually attack from underneath so colour is not a concern, if I remember right smell is one of their main senses. But for all those DIR out there, think about the colour, or lack thereof, of one of their favorite foods, seals!

More important when it comes to color...can your dive boat or Search and Rescue see you in the water?

I suppose I am glad that none of my gear is yellow. But I do have to agree with the previous post wearing colors for the rescue or dive boat to see you is just as important.

I guess that means when I get back to Florida I will have to get rid on my yellow rash-guard shirt, yellow do-rag for my bald head, and my yellow fins.

Yellow is a myth. Of course my poor mother freaked out when I sent her a picture of a shark heading directly toward me and my yellow wetsuit that another diver shot while we were in PNG.

All the email said was "We had a problem. I'll explain more later." and it was signed by my wife.

Poor mom...

Gotta love our Moms. When mine saw "JAWS!"2, she bought me a (very cool I must say) powerhead that attached to my cylinder as well as an ammunition belt. Note the pic.
