Do Sharks have a favorite color?
YouTube - Do Sharks Have a Color Preference?
I'm painting everything black.... EDIT: In deference to Splitlip here is the MythBusters video Shark Week Mini Myths: Do Sharks Have Color Preferences? Edit 2: Ok, maybe an all blue wetsuit would be better. And some spray paint for the backplate. Last edited by Taigin : 07-19-2008 at 08:45 PM. |

Liked the Vid. Not quite the same results as Myth Busters.
My OW instructor Frank (The Shark Killer) Hammett, told us always wear black here on the East Coast. NEVER yellow.

I think about that too.
My daughter (who is all about fashion), selected lime green fins. They look kind of yellow under the water. But, I have to say, saw some divers diving last week with with yellow SP Twin Jet Max fins. The color looked like it was lit up at 80ft. Unreal.

No, they don't have a favorite color. It's a fun story to tell, and "yum-yum yellow" has a nice ring to it, but it's complete BS.
Wear whatever color you want. Divers don't move like food, unless you're paddling on the surface... and then color isn't the issue, it's the silhouette. |
