Guerrilla divers didn't need "Buoyancy Compensator Vests". In fact, "Anyone who needs a BC deserves to drown" was a popular adage.
Exploration and the Hunt came first, excitement and fun followed. Safety was the stepchild of fitness, good reflexes and a cool head.
This was a time of great Adventure.

I saw the photo on Flickr, and left the guy a comment. He replied, suprised to find out after the fact that the cute little blue ringed octopus has enough venom in a single bite to kill his whole neighborhood. Dummy.

Lucky for him, it apparently wanted to be held.

That annoys the heck out of me.
Having had salt water tanks for many years, I know first hand that stressing the animals can have very adverse effects on them.

At least he paid a price for his stupidity. All too often in life, stupidity goes un-punished.
