Question Insurance question

Hello again I got to thinking about my life insurance. I have had life insurance for a long time now but I was wondering now that I am a certified diver do you think I have to change anything on my policy?

If the policy is already in place, leave well enough alone but read it over. Divers often end up with a higher rate on insurance policies. Some have an exclusion for certain "high risk" activities such as diving.

This is something that I never even thought of. I will have to do some checking into my own to see if I have any "high risk" exclusions.

My agent told me not to change my policy, because now that I am a diver it would be a lot higher, or either there would be a clause in it that would not cover scuba accidents. The policy I have now there is no clause in it.

So basically since you already have a policy set in place before you were a diver then now that you are a diver that policy would cover a scuba death? I hope that never to happen of course but looking out for my son I have had a universal life policy for about 8 years now. I just recently got certified so the questions are arising.

Yes, basically, that's what my agent told me. He is also a friend of the family, and I trust what he says. My policy is a term policy with Modern Woodman.

leave your current policy in place, but also get DAN insurance to cover all diving related injuries/death. Your regular insurance won't pay for diving accident and DAN won't pay for your death if not associated with a dive trip..... so you need both.

The only thing is DAN only covers 15,000 life insurance vs. my life policy has 100,000 thats a big difference. I do plan to get DAN next mnth.
