Giant Clams Nearly Clamped Mike Nelson

I'm watching Sea Hunt DVDs for the up-teenth time.

In two episodes, Giant Clams nearly squeezed Mike to death.

Could Giant Clams be a subtle analogy to women?

Is it better to be squeezed and squashed, than never to have been clamped at all?

funny. Just another one of those stupid storylines that kept us all watching the show and believing how "dangerous" scuba diving is! In truth, the biggest injury caused by giant clams is from divers trying to lift them - mainly back injuries. They weigh hundreds of pounds.

Usually they tried for a modicum of accuracy, but then they would have a brain f**t and needlessly give misinformation.

One was the extreme danger of killer whales....the most deadly creature in the ocean!

I have learned to enjoy Sea Hunt episodes with a mindset that asks "What did they do right?"

The videography was first rate, and Mike's depicted ability to think/solve problems at depth was admirable.

Because of my upbringing, watching lots of Sea Hunt episodes, I was fascinated by the giant clams I found when I snorkeled on the Great Barrier Reef years ago. I LOVED diving down and putting my hand in them, so they'd "clamp" down on it.

For a moment (until I easily pulled my hand out), I WAS Mike Nelson!

Only if you were squeezed so hard that you had to use a magnesium flare for extrication!

Will a magnesium flare work on relieving the squeeze I'm getting from the IRS?
