So just because some twit in the UK said that neoprene ages... i should pay full price for a wet suit?? I think not.
If i can get a "new" wetsuit on ebay or anyplace for that matter, only used a few times, still looks good, and for all intents and purposes is new, just not store bought. I work hard for my money, and intend to keep it in my pocket.... just my 2 cents |

Ebay is a great place to source some cheap gear and just look at the feedback to see if the seller warrants your trust, so simple. I still do not think I would buy regs off it though, you just don't kno0w who may have been inside them and I don't like to take chances with my number 1 piece of survival gear.

)My logic: A good regulator service includes a complete disassembly and inspection, ultrasonic cleaning, all new o-rings and seals, and a bench test. After a thorough service, the condition of the regulator when you bought it is moot. Your real risk is that the service will discover corrosion or something that will cost you extra money. I would consider the cost of the servicing as part of the real cost of the Ebay purchase. I wouldn't trust my own regs if they have gone more than 18 - 24 months without a service. Anyone who buys a regulator from a complete stranger and then dives it without servicing it is just an idiot. |
