I was another Sea Hunt fan, as a kid. As a kid we were always in the water (swimming and snorkeling). Diving is something I always wanted to learn, but life just kept me busy with other things.

Fast forward many years, and at the age of 49, I decided to finally get certified.

Now I've been diving for 4 years. Mostly warm water vacation dives (Bonaire3X, Curcao and Roatan), but lately I've started doing some local diving, here in the northeast.

Jacques Cousteau fan as a kid. Read all of his books, starting with "Silent World". Wanted to be a marine biologist (got a bachelors before giving up).

Certified my first summer out of high school, '76. Paid for the lessons and the gear (and college) myself.

I got into it in college when I started as a marine biology major, it took me a year to complete my certification because of some pitfalls along the way, but it was really worth it

My daughter gave me and my wife OW dive gift cert as Christmas present. We were then OW certified in August the next year and I must say this is the best Christmas present we ever received.
