Lucky, Lake George has some great visibility but, as soon as you started fanning around you loose it for a while. So, instead of fanning the bottom, I scoop it away and recheck to see if I grabbed it, if not keep scooping until I did, and then shake the scoop and wait for the outcome. Worked well with out clouding up the water to bad.
I used a plastic straight lip scoop but, should have brought my metal round lip scoop to be able to dig better. Lesson Learned

I was just at Roger's Rock on Sunday. My buddy found a $10 bill lying on the bottom, so there is money to be found in Lake George!

LOL, Matt I wish it was that easy for me. I have not ventured up to RR yet other than for day picnic with the wife. I hear its has some nice cliffs and boulders up there. Next year will check it out.

A friend of mine is pretty good at this, both UW and surface (he also is a dealer).

Some of the higher end units can differentiate between coins and gold and trash (more than simple sensitivity controls).

Pretty nice. He recommended Whites to us. My 15yr. old has a non waterproof Lonestar and it works well enough, but he's ready to move up.

A lot of treasure finding is skill. Know where to look and how to separate the trash from treasure just by the quality of the signal.
