Lucky, Lake George has some great visibility but, as soon as you started fanning around you loose it for a while. So, instead of fanning the bottom, I scoop it away and recheck to see if I grabbed it, if not keep scooping until I did, and then shake the scoop and wait for the outcome. Worked well with out clouding up the water to bad.
I used a plastic straight lip scoop but, should have brought my metal round lip scoop to be able to dig better. Lesson Learned |

A friend of mine is pretty good at this, both UW and surface (he also is a dealer).
Some of the higher end units can differentiate between coins and gold and trash (more than simple sensitivity controls). Pretty nice. He recommended Whites to us. My 15yr. old has a non waterproof Lonestar and it works well enough, but he's ready to move up. A lot of treasure finding is skill. Know where to look and how to separate the trash from treasure just by the quality of the signal. |
