Talk me off the ledge...
I'm seein some really good prices on Bare drysuits these days....is it worth jumping on a great deal for a cheap drysuit, or saving up for a mucho pricey one?....I want one badly.

umm...actually,I should edit that to say drysuit....forgive me, I'm a philadelphian, and I had a few beers watching the game.
anyway, my DRYsuit needs would be one that keeps me warm and toasty in the cold weather, and preferably doesn't cost a fortune... Last edited by 3rdEye : 10-27-2008 at 11:51 PM. |

Spend some time researching drysuits in your price range...
Quote:
If I were you, based on the value per dollar, I would go with the Whites Fusion suit. For some crazy reason, the Nex-Gen price went up to about $950 recently. The Whites Fusion is still around $1200. For that difference, I would pay to get the Fusion. It's worth it for the unparalleled flexibility/comfort. A drysuit is definitely a substantial investment in your scuba hobby. Think long and hard before you make the jump. Do your research on the various suits in your price range. Rent/demo them if you have the chance. Decide whether you want a neoprene drysuit or membrane shell suit. Know that you can use long underwear as an insulating layer underneath a shell suit, but in the end you'll probably want to buy a specialized drysuit undergarment ($200 - $350). Ask your dive buddies what undergarment they recommend for your local waters. Good luck! |

Bare makes some fine drysuits. If you see the price is right on a good suit that fits you, and it's in your budget, there's no reason to suffer through being cold anymore.
I prefer DUI suits for a few specific reasons, but I have nothing bad to say about Bare. |

The BARE suits are great, my wife and I both dive them and have for the last two years, no problems with any seals, valves, etc. They've worked flawlessly and I say grab one if you see a deal- we did and haven't looked back!
