Dive Magazines

I am looking at subscribing to some magazines to do some further reading and research (and to make me think happier thoughts during the winter).

My question is...are there any good magazines out there that are overall good magazines and sources of information. I am leaving it kind of open just due to the fact that i want opinions on all types of diving...from new diver to tech diving....

I like information and doing research on this wonderful sport.

I highly recommend Dive Training. Good articles focused on learning and teaching various aspects of diving, along with environmental and travel articles (also focused on the learning aspects, rather than the spending aspects).

The BEST part, is that the magazine is available free at most LDSs.

I know that there is already a thread on the fate of the PADI sport diver mag. What is the consensus??? Will it continue to be published???

ADM - Advanced Diver Magazine is a great mag with a lot of articles on cave, wreck and rebreather diving.

Wreck Diver is a good mag too. heavy the shipwreck history, but a good diving mag.

Others have covered the good magazines. I will note that I still really enjoy Sport Diver and Scuba Diving Magazine, both for the ads and for the pretty pictures. I just take any info in the articles with a huge grain of salt, and always consider the source.

An excellent, very informative on-line magazine: X-Ray International Dive Magazine

And, I'll reiterate that Dive Training is excellent. A couple friends of mine from my dive club (ScubaDillo Dive Club in Dallas) publish six to eight times a year in DT. Their latest article is about St Croix in the newest issue.

I am glad to see that I am not the only person that likes Scuba Diving Magazine. I keep them next to the throne and read away. I am not a big fan of Dive Training. Maybe it is the layout or something, but I think of it as more of something that I find at the dentist's office than something cool.
