It does sound like fun! I thought from the title you were going to post something unpleasant, like the one about the guy who got a stinging jellyfish pumped into his warm water suit after it got sucked into an intake. 40 degrees, low vis, and current sounds pretty typical to me.

i'd give it a go, doesnt sound that bad, its the sitting in a tiny dive bell with 2 other dudes for 8 hours that some of the commercial guys do that puts me off

As many of the previous posters have stated, that doesn't sound too different from a dive in Michigan. I guess one man's hell is another man's heaven.
