Underwater pumpkin carving, see speak hear.....

Today Waterfront Dive Center held their annual underwater pumpkin carving competition to benefit DAN. Nine teams of two competed and I am pleased to show you the 1st place entery by yours truly and forum member jbrownell.

Congrats! I did one last year, and it was a ton of fun! I took second place, although I thought there were some better than mine.

Those are so fun! I couldn't do our local competition yesterday, but hopefully next year. Working on a design, but I have never done underwater carving. Might have to practice a little first.

I couldn't get my pumpkins to look that good on land... let alone underwater. Nice job!

it was not an easy feat. each pumpkin is attached to the stand with an oversized particle board washer and a wing nut, from the inside. I have a whole new appreciation for what commercial divers do every day. try screwing on a wing nut with 5 mm gloves on inside a pumpkin you cant see inside of and can hardly get your hand into........ lol So worth it in the end though.......
