Sinus trouble

I have a camping/dive trip setup for a week from tomorrow. The problem is I have been having sinus trouble for about the past 2 weeks and in the past week a sore throat. I went to the doctor monday and they did not give me a straight answer about what I have. She just perscribed me an antibiotic and allegra-D. I think I went to the Dr. on the "getting better" side of this stuff. I would hate to drive several hours and no be able to dive......I hope I get over this stuff fast!

Good luck! Been on a few dives with folks that were sick, they made it OK. But, first rule of cool. Cool enough to quit, is cooler than died doing it.

Hope it gets better, I battled it for 3 weeks. Amoxicillin didn't help so they gave me Ceftin and a Ayr saline nasal rinse for congestion. You could also use a Netti Pot.

I dove one day with a stopped up nose and I had a sinus that took a little while to equalize. I almost should have called it off because it was kinda of hurting before it did equalize but decided against it since I was already out there.

Check this thread out, shooting saltwater up your nose, from the other board. I haven't read much of it, but might be worth a shot.

Gargle and drink 1/2 oz of Apple Cider Vinegar mixed into about 4 oz of water about 3 times a day. Should notice relief in 3-4 hours. Worked wonders for me after weeks of different antibiotics did nothing.

Yeah, but WaScubaDude: That sounds totally nasty! How do I gargle and gag at the same time?

I started noticing the same thing last Monday night (sinus pressure / sore throat). Went to Doc first thing Tuesday and gave me Keflex and said to use Mucinex. I've been pounding the vitamins for the last 3 weeks trying to stay healthy. I leave for Bonaire in 2 days, I really, really, hope this thing goes away. I might have to try the vinager thing mentioned above.
