It looks like a great deal. But only you can decide. I wouldn't worry too much about "If it's the perfect setup". It's all top of the line (OK, I don't know about the Octo). If you are like most divers I know, you'll end up with 2 or 3 more regs, several tanks, and who knows what else. I have about 10 things on my list right now, and I have all the toys (according to my wife).

the reg is awesome (like the rest of Oceanics stuff)
it's a top reg, from a great company paired with a good octo (use it from left/right upside up/down and sideways) and a great BC that alot of people like.
the price is incredible, price it out and see the deal!
all good stuff, from big companies that have a good fan base (i dont know if thats the right term... but im a fan of zeagle)

I never dove with this reg, but I have a Delta IV and have been very happy with it. Not sure exactly what the differences are, the only cosmetic one is the swivel.

THat computer looks very similar to my Oceanic VEO250.

And the brigade is a nice BC. Someday I would like to try one, a back inflate vs my jacket.

Looks like a good package to me. I spent about the same, skimped a little on the BC from yours, but bought the next up BC for about the same price.

Nice setup, chewy. Get it done and let us know how you go on your first dive.

It's a nice package. We have 3/4 of the items listed in it. Love the back inflate Brigade. I don't miss the torso squeeze at all! We have also been very pleased with the computer and octo. The octo can be used in any direction and that was a chief reason why we bought it. The computer has been great...does everything I want it to and was priced right. We have a different reg but we use everything else and have been extremely happy with it all.
