A rare pink, albino dolphin...

Not sure if anyone else had seen this, so thought I'd pass it along:

It is very cute! I hope some zoo doesn't try to capture it and I wonder if it will have any other troubles being albino re:health, predators etc....

I hear some animals (not sure if it's only certain mammals or what) with leucistic and albino skin do actually have more sensitive skin.I know we have a chimpanzee at the zoo here who has a genetic disorder that caused her to lose all of her fur and her skin is rather pale.. she actually got a tan when they moved her outside, they had to put lotion on her to keep her from burning!

If I recall, long exposed beached whales are actually treated with sun screen as well to keep their skin from cracking when it dries. I can't 100% call that though, can anyone else?

Very good point about the zoos! That would be absolutely horrible
The only problem (not sure if there's more) that I've heard is that they are more prone to skin problems.

cool picture. i just hope that due to being an albino that it will not have problems. the way i understand it that albinos are usually shund by their own kind. but being an animal of higher intelligence maybe it will be fine.
