It depends on what you mean by high? I was at 210 and then I decided to take a non pharma way of lowering it. I started taking fish oil/vitamins/coq10 and 4 months later it went down to 164. It hasn't affected my diving one bit.

Nice to see someone else use the "non-pharma" way and handle it themselves...some of those med have side-effects that eventually lead to putting you on some other medications for the side effects......

I love the medications that have worse side-effects than the reason your curing it.

Migrain cure - some side effects include:
Liver Failure
Nose Bleeds
Anal leakage
Your eyes, will actually fall out
Hair Loss
Narcosis
Sudden urges to eat mayonnaise
Temporary blindness
Anxiousness or tendency to freak out suddenly

Thank guys for your replies... However, the question I would like to know is if diving affects someone with MANAGED cholesterol. the reason that I ask is on the medical release forms it is listed as one of gthe items at the top. However, If its managed either by meds or non pharma. is there anything to consider or worry about while diving?

coralcrazed, good question. I have high cholesterol and high blood pressure (pre-hypertension). I have not let it interfere with my diving. I will be following this thread to see what the consensus is. Thanks.

What kind of vitamins do you take? My doctor has given me three months to get mine down, or will likely be putting me on lowering meds, which I do not want....
