Whale shark?

I was diving in the Phillipines this here and they had told us it was too bad that we were not there for the whale sharks. I was wondering who here has dove with a whale shark and is it as cool as it looks.

How big "were" they.....If I saw one I saw 30 or more in the waters...smallest maybe 20' largest 40'....everyone thinks you have to travel half way around the world to see em....Wrong....only 5 hours from the west coast....or pretty much the east coast.....one of the coolest things I have done.

I have not, but August thru September is the time to see at the rigs off South Padre Island and other places along the coast.

Oh I really want to do this. My friend (who lives in Aussie) and I were looking at doing it over at Exmouth on the West Coast of Australia, to see the whale sharks. But it was going to cost quite a bit to get there, so we put it off. One day though.

Yeah probably about 5' or so....came in close?...how about when that tail hits you in the chest and knocks the wind out of you.....and OK...I'm busted...snorkeled with them in Holbox...could not dive with them as vis was only 5' to 10'.....During July and August I believe they now say it is one of the largest concentration of WhaleSharks in the world....it was one of the coolest things I have done.
