What certifications do you have and why?
I got to thinking earlier today....
What certifications do you have, why did you get them, and why did you stop at where you are? I have my OW, AOW and Rescue... I went up to Rescue b/c I am applying to Graduate School which requires that you be Rescue and a Certified Research Diver. And I volunteer at The Aquarium of the Pacific, which requires you to be Rescue certified in order to be a diver there. I plan to go up to Master Scuba Diver sometime. But I'm not sure about going any further than that. How about you?

I did my OW back in December, my AOW in August. I'll get Nitrox this fall (November timeframe). I hear great things about Rescue and hope to do that in the spring of 2008. After that I'm probably done with certs. Might take some specialty courses (UW photography for example), but at the present time I don't have a desire to progress through the "professional" stages.

OW, AOW, Rescue (think everyone should do rescue) and DAN's Dive Emergency Management Provider (DEMP)....another excellent set of classes. We'll finish our Master Scuba Diver next summer, but mostly because there are 4 specialties we want to take, so we might as well do a fifth and get our MSD.

I have done OW, AOW, EANx, and rescue.
I did nitrox after I dove the Oriskany and thought, damn that was a short time to be down. If I was on nitrox I could have had a couple more minutes. Rescue because it was a killer class and if the brown stuff hits the fan I want to know what to do. BTW, I'm not done with classes. With any luck next year will be deco procedures of some type. |

I got my OW because getting air fills with out a card was getting to be a pain. Got my AOW to please the boat operators and their lawyer's. And I got my nitrox for longer BT and shorter SI's.
