I dove two places in CO and hated them both so my favorite is Lembeh Strait in Indonesia. I hereby adopt Indonesia as my state.

Texas spots
Can't say I like Lake Travis - yes, one of the better lakes to dive - but still murky at its berst.
Possum Kingdom can be downright 0 viz until you get deep or near the dam - again, not much fun. In fact - virtually all Texas lakes I've been to are the same. Athens SCUBA park is clear, but full of alum and real shallow (the active train tracks right next to it don't help me fell at home either). Floating the Brazso is fun at time - almost more of a snorkel though. So I have to say (actually in Texas) Clear Springs. Flower Gardens is quite a bit off-shore - and haven't been there yet and that would far exceed any lake or river. |

I'd have to say Lake Travis here in Texas, even though it's about 2.5 hours away. CSSP just doesn't impress me all that much. They have great facilities, but it's pretty far away from me (3 hours), a thermocline right below the surface, and only 60 feet deep. Blue Lagoon is an hour away, usually decent viz, but no real flora besides some darter fish, and depth is about 25 ft.
