First post-cert dives

So I went out to Mermet Springs in IL today for my first post-cert dives, and it was *awesome*. Went out with skdvr and he was really cool about helping out a newbie, as were a bunch of the other divers I met out there. I got to check out a school bus, motorcycle, planes and a petting zoo :-) I had a few "floaty" episodes but I noticed an improvement in my buoyancy over the 3 dives...guess I'll have to practice a lot, but that's a burden I think I can handle

Sounds like a blast. I'm curious about that petting zoo.

*grin* It's really a collection of concrete statues, pretty neat to dive around...I did pet one of them haha.

I am glad that you had a good time. I did as well. I think that you will find most people in the dive community helpful, in that they will dive with people of all experience levels. We all started somewhere. They divers that think that they are too good to dive with a new diver you probably do not want to dive with anyway.

I am always up for dives anytime.
