What is the first thing you think of when you reach bottom at the beginning if a dive

R U Excited, Optimistic, Pessimistic or just happy to be there? Some say this has everything in the world to do with how you complete your dive that day. So I was just wondering....What's going on in your head?

My thoughts are did the rest of the group get their buddies all checked out and are the ready? And OMG this is gonna be fun! Wonder what is down here and LET'S GO! AOBTW...did everyone bring everything so we aren't going to sit and wait for them to go get it....
We have gotten so many friends involved with different levels of experience now that we do alot of checking and double-checking their gear for them before they get in.....

I usually feel immediate relaxation and happiness to be diving. Then the first thing I do is look around 360 degrees while my husband fiddles with his camera. At our last dive site of our last trip, I had the pleasure of spotting a Hammerhead cruise by us (while I was screaming into my regulator).

We've also been treated to 2 Manta Rays swimming by (in Hawaii), and Spotten Eagle Rays as well. I'm hoping for a Humback Whale sighting one day, so I'll continue to scan the blue water regularly.

i usually dive with just one buddy so we do all the checking on the surface. once we touched the bottom we look around, observe for a few seconds what's going on and then contubue with a plan. having gotten to the bottom adds a bit of a satisfaction something like getting on a highway for a long drive.

Check my air, depth, buddy, and take a compass bearing. Then I relax and start looking for animals.

I usually like to do a 360 degree turn and just enjoy the view for a minute or two, then I start going

Take all the sights in, check gear, relax, and start swimming.
