Best places to dive for Sea Turtles?

So, reading the Sea Turtle thread above (which infuriates me, BTW), I'd like to know where the best place (US or caribbean/mexico) is a good place to dive to see and dive with sea turtles. Disneydaughter likes sea turtles, so I'd like to find out where a good location would be. and NO, no molesting!!

We see turtles (Hawaiian Green Sea and/or Hawksbill) on just about every dive we do on Maui. Since they have been protected for so long in Hawaii, they don't really care about people and you can approach them very closely (within a foot or two), and often they will approach you.

Places I've seen turtles diving:

Grand Cayman - At Turtle Reef by the Turtle Farm. Great shoredive btw. We also saw them occasionally at other divesites. There's thousands of turtles at the Turtle Farm but they're raised to be food and souvenirs unless you pay to set one free, ($185-250) the higher price is to snorkel with it first. Cayman's national symbol is a turtle.

Agree with ZG about Maui. There's a divesite called Turtle Town and they're now living on the St. Anthony wreck off Maui. My buddy had a young one swim up to them and stay around the whole dive.

Sheraton Caverns off Kauai. There's big green sea turtles there constantly. Mostly sleeping in ridges along the sides but sometimes they'll follow you around. I think Hawaii in general is probably a good option, from what I've read, the Big Island and Oahu are similar.

We've also seen a few at different divesites in the BVI's. There's a resort called Little Dix Bay on Virgin Gorda and everytime the diveboat cruised up the channel, several turtles would go streaking for the bottom. Beautiful snorkeling bay - but pricey.

Kauai, HI - Off the south shore, there's a dive spot called Hale O Honu, which means House of Turtles. I believe they are so abundant due to a nearby sugar cane plant. The super-fertilized runoff makes for lots and lots of algae, and they go crazy.

I don't know if it is technically "the best". But they had us surrounded...

Awesome! There's some good ideas there - thank you all! I looked into Vero Beach today, and JW is looking at Key Largo. Are they abundant in Key largo?
