away (TX). Larry practically dared me not to purchase my first (non
Aquaman) fins. His Jedi mind tricks lured me into getting the Apollo
Bio fins with spring straps. I eagerly await their arrival at my
door so I can test them out in my bathtub and sleep with them under my
pillow. That is, until I get my butt certified and start making my own

A while ago I was teaching an OW class to a couple of guys. They seemed like nice folks, and they were quick learners. After I certified them, I found out they only wanted to know how to dive so that they could bust their brother out of Alcatraz. So I caught up with them underwater during the escape and cut their airhoses.

Oh, wait. That was an episode of Sea Hunt.

i read this hilarious story by Dave Barry and he alluded to Sea Hunt. Apparently, he said, in every episode of Sea Hunt, someone's airhose inevitably gets cut.

so, joew, i believe you.

Ya realize, of course, that when they cut the airhoses on Sea Hunt, they AWAYS cut the exhaust hose.

I never noticed that before. I'll need to take a closer look the next time I'm watching old episodes.
