Underwater Cleanup
I've seen lots of different threads relating to this subject but I would like to get one thread started where people can summarize their cleanups. So if you want to include who, what, when, where, how many people you had and anything else you feel is pertinent that would be great. I think this could be a good way to give others good ideas on how to improve our local cleanup days.
Underwater and shore cleanup in Dominica: Who-Sponsored by Cabrits dive shop-it was a free dive for those who helped. What-Local cleanup of beach trash and underwater trash from the recent hurricane Dean and other heavy rains. When-9/23/07 Where-Toucari beach and Toucari caves dive site in north Dominica How many-We had about 25. We split up into two groups, one group dove first and the other cleaned the beach. After the dive, the groups switched tasks. In all we cleared about 100 bags of trash off the reef and beach consisting mostly of coconut husks and plastics washed from the village into the ocean. We even had a chance to educate some of the local kids on why we were doing the cleanup. ![]() ![]() ![]() |
